CGFM CERTIFICATION (Certified Government Financial Manager)

WOULD LIKE TO GET AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE. NATIONAL AGA IS CURRENTLY OFFERING A $20 REBATE, AND THE TEST FEE WAIVED, IF WE GET AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE SIGNED UP. MORE TO COME ON THAT LATER.

The AGA Northern Utah Chapter offered a one-day class to help AGA members prepare to pass the first section of the CGFM certification test. The class was given at the Multi Agency State Office Building in Salt Lake City. It was taught by National AGA instructor. The cost for the class was $110 for AGA members, and $130 for non members.
If the attendee passed the national exam within 90 days one half of the registration was rebated back to the attendee.
For the first 10 individuals who actually signed up for the exam, we had a certificate to pay for the cost of the exam (a $109 value). The EXAM was given at the Pearson Professional Center, 11734 Election Road in Draper. Click here to print the above information and the registration form.
NOTE: This class covered Section 1 (Governmental Environment). There are 2 more sections. The Board is considering offering classes for the other two sections as well. There is a test that applies to each of the 3 sections.
You can go to the National AGA website to get more detailed information about CGFM certification, how to prepare for the tests, how to maintain certification, and so forth: www.agacgfm.org/cgfm/cgfmdefault.aspx. But in summary, to get CGFM certification, you actually have to take three exams, each one costing $109. But you have up to 3 years to complete all three examinations, and they can be taken in any order. There is also an $85 registration fee before taking the exams.
